Welcome to Reading

A Warm Welcome

Welcome to reading! As your Language Arts teacher this year, I hope to instill within you a love of reading and writing. We will explore fiction, non-fiction, and poetry as well as focus on skills necessary to complete interdisciplinary activities.

I have taught for twenty-two years earning my Bachelor of Arts degree from John Carroll University and my Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University. I am licensed to teach English, reading, and elementary education. I am also interested in music and have spent many years playing the flute, bassoon, and piano. Currently, I am a bassoonist with The Hillcrest Concert Band performing every week throughout the spring and summer and rehearsing each week the rest of the year. Three years ago, the band performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City and at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D. C. I also enjoy gardening, birdwatching, tennis, swimming, cooking, and of course READING!
